200th Anniversary of the Sibley Survey at Fort Osage National Historic Landmark
Steve Schmidt will conduct sessions on the Sibley Survey, explaining its origins in 1825, the expedition team, and objectives for the US government. He’ll also cover the survey’s initiation from Fort Osage and summarize its achievements. Schmidt, an engineer, has received preservation awards for his work on the Santa Fe Trail site.
