The Equipment of a Soldier at Fort Osage
A Fall Muster at Fort Osage.
Most of the arms, clothing, and other equipment needed by soldiers at Fort Osage were issued to them by an officer of the company. Anything else a soldier needed would have to be purchased. The following is a partial list of equipment issued to Private Travis Adams from October 21, 1812 through April 9, 1815. Private Adams was a Virginian who enlisted at Fort Osage on September 20, 1811 as a laborer.
