A new event at the Fort Osage National Historic Landmark this Spring!

We invite you to join us on a fascinating tour of eight historic cemeteries in the historic Six Mile district of Jackson County, Missouri.

The 1808 Osage Treaty, signed at Fort Osage, allowed for an area six miles square around the fort to be used for white settlement. This area, commonly known as the Six Mile district, became home to some of the earliest European-American settlers in western Missouri. Most of these immigrants were farmers who came from eastern Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

Cost is $20 and includes lunch, cemetery bus tour, and admission to the Fort Osage National Historic Landmark. Space is limited to 20 and pre-registration is required and due by April 1, 2016! If you are interested email jpeterson@jacksongov.org and we can send you a registration form.
