“Across the Indian Country: Photographs by Alexander Gardner, 1867-68” are on display at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. This exhibit features the photographs from the signing of the Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868, as well as photographs of the traditional way of life of the plains Indians. The Treaty of Fort Laramie marked the end of the traditional way of Plains life for the Indians.
“Across the Indian Country” will be on display through January 11th, 2015 at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, 4525 Oak St., Kansas City, Missouri 64111. The exhibit is free and is open from 10a.m.-5p.m. Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday; 10a.m.-9p.m. Thursday and Friday.
